Security theatre, it's all too far, doesn't stop anyone. This is about power and control and teaching obedience. Notice that TSA agents do not say please. They order you about.
ALWAYS opt out, always go for the pat-down and keep your recording device on in your bag which will be near you. If it's not near you, request that it be brought over close to you.
They don't like doing the pat down. It's gross, it slows down the lines. This is the only way to squelch the harassment.
They WANT us to not fly, they want us afraid and home, waiting for the next order.
