A quick web search turns up news that scanners are now in Ontario (California, not Canada), Chicago-Midway, and Houston-Hobby. Perhaps now would be a good time to watch this video (and at least laugh at the encroaching tyranny):

This kinda irks me. The TSA pat downs aren't any worse than they were before if you set the metal detector off. And her metal hip setting off the alarm? Well,that's no longer an issue because of the X-ray scanners.

ReplyDeleteBut, the so-called pat-downs are worse now. Did you see Toni's letter on this site? It used to be that setting off the metal detector meant that they would use a wand to find the offending location. Now you go straight to an embarrassing and aggressive search.
And maybe grandma is opposed to having her natural rights violated and her health put at risk, and so refused the scanner. Can't hardly blame her for having common sense!
