Anonymous police officer to take a stand

An anonymous commenter wrote on another website:
I’m a police officer in Arizona planning to take my wife and son to Austria where my wife is from next month.

I will not identify myself as a cop as we opt out of the body scan. I will tell the TSA screeners not to touch mine or my family’s private parts.

If it happens I will make the felony sexual abuse arrest and that TSA worker will be registering as a sex offender for life after their prison time is over.

  1. Yes! That's what I like to hear. You're a fantastic example of what the police are suppose to be doing - defending people's rights. I hope more police will follow in suit.

Thank you for your service to your country!

  2. Unbelievable that we Americans have become such cowards after 9/11... It is unbelievable that we prefer to abandon the principles of Liberty for sake of some "perceived" security.

In spite of this view, I'm hopeful that more and more Americans will speak against the TSA. Perhaps one day we will face the risks of life with bravery and come to accept that life holds no grantees and that more government is not the answer.

  3. What's curious here is that people believe it takes a police officer to make an arrest. It does not, or it should not. If someone attempts to violate your rights, arrest them yourself.

I'd be curious to hear how this goes. I would wager that it would go roughly as follows:
    1) TSA - I'm going to grope you now
    2) Officer - You are under arrest for groping me
    3) TSA - I have more agents, and more authority than you.
    4) Officer - I am outnumbered, I am contacting my backup
    5) TSA - I am also contacting your backup.
    6) Officer - My supervisor has told me to play nice. I am playing nice to keep my job.

Unless you are willing to loose everything, you won't fight tyranny.

  4. Being a cop does not put you above the law, contrary to your own belief. You are subject to the same security protocols as everyone else. If the agent performs the pat down according to the published tsa procedures you wont be arresting anybody for anything.

  5. @Anon - Does being a TSA agent put you above the law? Because I think that is the police officer's point: the TSA agent is breaking the law (even while following "policy").
